My career started in January 1995 with Ernst & Young Denver. At Ernst & Young I started as a staff auditor and was promoted to a Senior Auditor after two years.
In December 1998 I accepted a position as a Senior Accountant with Orica USA. Orica is a publicly traded company that provides mining service for quarry construction, underground, and surface mining. In November 1999 I became the Senior Business Analyst for Orica International Management. In December of 2001 I was promoted to International Accounting Manager where I oversaw the financial reporting for the Orica's worldwide explosives division.
In June 2002 I accepted a Controllership position with InsureMe a startup that provides insurance services. Shortly after being hired I became the Chief Financial Officer. At InsureMe I helped grow annual sales from $4M in 2002 to $50M in 2009. My responsibilities included overseeing Finance, Online Marketing, HR, and Project Management. In February 2008, I helped sell InsureMe to Bankrate. After careful consideration I decided to resign from my position as CFO in February 2010. Since then I have been building businesses, investing, windsurfing, and spending time with my wife and three kids.
